This 1958 ducati 100 sport is a fairly rare model even in europe. A few 125 sports have found their way to the us but the 100 version is hard to find. I acquired this bike several years ago with the intention of participating in the 100cc class of the giro di california. I rode my 175 morini tresette in many of those events. Nearly always finished but was not smart enough to figure out the exact enduro rules. I figured that if i was the only one in the 100cc class and i finished, i could win the first prize in my class!! Seriously though, this isn't going to happen. The bike was prepared years ago for the milano-taranto road race but never used. Two weeks ago i pulled it out of storage, put a new battery, oil and gas and fired it up. Gears change nicely. Charging system works as well as lights and horn. If this bike is to be used in any kind of event i would recommend going through it. Very good compression but internal condition is unknown. The cable operated clutch arm mechanism has been re-enforced. Correct size tires are excellent. Small dent on top of tank(see photo). Clear california title in my name. Also comes with it's original 1958 italian title with correct engine, frame and license numbers (for historical value). Please call 818 705 8655. This is a rare model for a ducati enthusiast. I have been accused of hoarding with all my little italian bikes so as much as i like this is cool bike it is time for it to find a new custodian. Fairly priced and lot's of potential. Restored 100 sports sell in europe for 6-7000 euros. 999999 Miles
